This fantastic day of Rugby League will see the South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the Manly Sea Eagles at 5pm, followed by our mighty Parramatta Eels playing 2016 Premiers, the Cronulla Sharks.

The Battle of the West heats up in Round 5 of the 2018 NRL competition as the Eels take on the Penrith Panthers. Intriguingly , this will be the second time that the two teams verse each other in 2018 as they would have already come up against each other in Round 1.
The history of the Battle of the West spans back to 1966, where the teams have versed each other a total of 94 times with the Eels holding the upper hand with 56 wins.
The last time the two teams faced was at ANZ Stadium during Round 8 in 2017, where the Eels took a comfortable 18-12 victory despite a late Penrith surge.

The rivalry between two clubs spans back 70 years and peaked in the 1980's, where the clubs played against each other in the 1984 & 1986 Grand Finals with the Eels claiming victory in 1986.
In recent times the Eels have come up trumps in this epic rivalry by winning both games in 2017, with the most recent being a convincing 20-4 win in a rain-soaked evening at ANZ Stadium.
